Hi I am fairly new to the Bristol Mini scene, I drive a John Cooper LE which I have had from new, up until recently it was my every day car, I lived in cornwall for 3 and a half years, and was a keen surfer so my mini spent alot of time parked on beaches, which as you can imagine took it's toll on the bodywork. I now live in Bristol and have a company van so I have decided it's time to restore the mini back to it's former glory. I am on a fairly tight budget, but I want to make sure I do it properly, so I was just wondering if anyone could recommend a good bodyshop (preferably mini specific) in the Bristol area. (I have considered MBM, would love to get it done there but I think they're a bit out of my price range.) Also if anyone is selling any mpi mini parts, or knows of any mini breakers in the area I would be keen to know as I am looking for quite a few bits. If anyone can give me any help or advice it would be much appreciated. Thanks Mark

Avoid MBM. You won't find a Mini owner in Bristol with a good word to say about them! I got a lot of bodywork done at "Gary's" in Keynsham (sorry, don't know the name of the business, but someone else will) and thought they did a very good job for the money. They're really an accident repair centre, though, so I'm not sure whether they routinely carry out restoration work.

They give free estimates and are a great bunch of guys down there, well worth getting an estimate as they worked wonders with mine, i can send you pics of the repair if you wish.

Thanks, No need to send pics, going to try out these two plus a couple of others next week for some quotes, so we'll see how it goes.

Hi if you haven't booked into one yet - I recommend Bob Jenkins in Kingswood/fishponds area. He only does classsics and has just finished my 1968 cooper total refurb - I will become a memeber soon as soon as the carbs are balanced. tel 01179615944
